Merchant &amp; Gould is pleased to announce that Merete Klausen was named an “Unsung Legal Hero” by Minnesota Lawyer for her trademark and administrative commitment to the firm and for always going above and beyond.

The award of “Unsung Legal Hero” goes to administrative assistants, paralegals, judicial clerk administrators, office managers, librarians, as well as staff in accounting, information technology and marketing. The nominations were reviewed and judged by an outside panel and the Minnesota Lawyer team. Winners were chosen for their talent and dedication in the legal-support profession -- and for going beyond their responsibilities in ways that support the firm, clients, and community.&nbsp;

“Merete knows that at the end of the day, our clients come first. She lives and breathes to serve them to the best of her ability, and teaches others to do the same. In addition to her work as a paralegal and assistant, she trains each new paralegal that joins our firm. It’s all because she wants them to do it the client-first way and the Merchant &amp; Gould way,” said Andrew Ehard, partner, who nominated Merete. “Her work ethic, dedication to service, and attention to detail are simply unmatched.”

As a Trademark Legal Specialist, Merete serves Merchant &amp; Gould by filing trademark applications, corresponding with clients, and maintaining trademarks within the U.S. and foreign countries. However, Merete doesn’t stop there. As a paralegal and assistant for one of the busiest Trademark groups in the country, she tackles the volume of work tirelessly and without sacrificing quality or accuracy. She consistently responds to every situation, client request, or setback with a can-do attitude.

“Above all else, Merete’s enthusiasm and professionalism make a positive impact within our firm and the legal industry as a whole. To her, every task, every client, every team member, every file, and every trademark matters.
